Osun Government Affirms Adeleke Adequately Informed Citizens About Upcoming Vacation

This position comes in response to reports circulating on Whatsapp and social media platforms, purportedly originating from the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Adeleke on New Media. These reports claim a statewide broadcast by the governor on Monday, November 27, 2023.
In a statement by Olalekan Badmus, Special Assistant (New Media) to Governor Adeleke, obtained on Monday, he refuted the circulated information as false, attributing it to mischief makers.
Badmus explicitly denied issuing the statement and urged the public to dismiss the information.
Moreover, Badmus disclosed that the governor had instructed Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, to brief the media on the administration’s one-year landmark achievements on the same day.
The statement clarified, “Governor Adeleke had duly informed Osun people of his working vacation to Europe and Asia, the first time he would take a break since assuming the governorship seat.
He has also directed the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, to brief the media on the one-year landmark achievements of the administration this Monday, 27th of November.
The Governor had also suspended any celebration of the one year in office to conserve state resources and align with the challenging times currently facing the citizenry.”
In contrast to the government’s position, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, in a statement on Sunday, accused Governor Adeleke of dishonesty regarding his whereabouts.
The Osun APC chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, asserted in the statement that the governor had been on vacation in the United States of America for the past two weeks.
