The President expressed the belief that granting autonomy to universities would significantly enhance the quality of higher education.
Recognizing that university autonomy places the responsibility for performance directly on each institution, the President stated that his administration is confident it has taken a positive step in the right direction.
Affirming his commitment to revitalizing tertiary institutions and the education sector for superior service delivery, he stated, “Our administration is determined to reshape the narrative of higher education for the better and elevate institutions of higher learning to a standard that allows them to compete globally.”
In a similar vein, Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki assured that the state’s civil and public service would offer automatic employment to first-class graduates of Edo origin.
