Governor Otti believes the decision will pave the way for peace, unity, and stability within the party.
In a statement issued after the court’s ruling, Governor Otti highlighted that the judgment affirmed the rightful leadership of the party. He pointed out that the tenure of the Abure-led NWC had expired, which led to the formation of the National Caretaker Committee (NCC), chaired by Esther Nenadi Usman and with Darlington Nwokocha serving as Secretary.
The Governor emphasized that the establishment of the caretaker committee was designed to promote harmony and unity within the party.
He further explained that the committee’s leadership vision is to build on the progress made in the last election while strengthening the party’s foundation.
Governor Otti praised the Supreme Court for delivering a well-reasoned judgment, which he believes aligns with the expectations of genuine Labour Party members and Nigerians as a whole.
He also thanked all those who remained supportive during the challenging period of the party’s leadership crisis.
Governor Otti extended an invitation to former national officers of the party to collaborate with the newly constituted National Executive Committee (NEC) and National Caretaker Committee (NCC) in moving the party forward.
He reassured party members of his commitment, along with other leaders, to build a Labour Party that is inclusive, free from discrimination, and dedicated to the welfare of all.
