She also touched on the significance of spirituality, self-awareness, and originality in her ability to continually reinvent herself within Nollywood.
She stated, “Many people want to achieve what I’ve done, but I always tell them: success comes with hard work. You have to do the dirty work.”
When asked about her consistent success, having dominated the Nigerian box office for four consecutive years with hit after hit, Funke attributed it to being intentional and a perfectionist in her craft.
Funke also shared a personal insight on grief and emotional resilience, revealing that she refuses to let personal challenges break her down.
Meanwhile, Ganiyu Kehinde Morufu, a Nollywood actor and skit maker known as Ijoba Lande, has issued an apology to Funke Akindele following his previous claims of receiving ₦90,000 for working on her movie set for a month.
In a video that circulated online, Lande recounted his experience working with Funke, mentioning that she was not approachable. He explained that Funke reached out to him after liking one of his social media videos, and, excited by the opportunity, he did not ask for payment, believing it would be a major break for his career.
Having learned from the experience, Lande advised upcoming creatives to always charge for their work, regardless of who the client is.
In a recent video shared on his social media, Lande clarified that he had actually been paid ₦190,000, not the ₦90,000 he initially claimed, attributing the mix-up to poor video editing. He also publicly apologized to Funke, expressing regret and emphasizing that he did not want any legal consequences.
