Inaugurating three roads—Old Court Road, Ehi Road, and Kent Road—that were reconstructed by Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, Igwe Alfred Achebe expressed gratitude, stating, “Otti is God-sent. After 24 years in the wilderness (of the state), Otti has come to repair Abia State and Aba.”

“Aba used to be number one in business and industry, but since Otti came in a year ago, things have changed. By God’s grace, the positive changes will continue throughout his four-year tenure,” he added, urging the people to support the governor’s efforts.

Governor Otti, motivated by inspections, emphasized his commitment to delivering tangible results for the people. He expressed satisfaction that “three months down the line, the roads are standing,” thanking the contractor and the direct labour agency under the state Ministry of Works for their efforts.

Governor Otti also announced plans to transform Enyimba Hotels Aba into a five-star hotel and a convention centre, aiming to elevate Aba to one of the best cities in the country.

The length of Old Court Road was disclosed to be 561 metres, while Kent Road measures 1.2 kilometres, both equipped with drainages and solar-powered street lights, according to the state Commissioner for Works, Otumchere Otti. He attributed the inauguration to a “promise kept” and alignment with the desires of the people.

Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Emmanuel Emeruwa, assured of a collaborative relationship with Governor Otti for the state’s betterment.
