The government is actively working to secure the necessary certifications from federal agencies to ensure the full utilization of the Ekiti State International Cargo Airport in Ado Ekiti.

Mr. Akin Oyebode, the Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, made this announcement during a press conference in Ado Ekiti to mark the first anniversary of the Oyebanji administration in the state.

Oyebode, who chairs the anniversary planning committee, clarified that Governor Oyebanji has chosen to both complete inherited projects and initiate new ones to expand the scope of development and eliminate resource wastage.

He explained that the governor has been adhering to the Ekiti State Transition Law, which requires the completion of projects inherited from previous administrations, aligning with the continuity agenda. This commitment is demonstrated by the completion of the Ado Ekiti Bus Terminal and the Ekiti State Traditional Rulers’ Chamber, with additional projects slated for completion and use in the near future.
