The Kogi State Signage Agency’s introduction of these fees was characterized as an effort to impede the competitive landscape and stifle the visibility of other political parties in advance of the gubernatorial election.

The statement conveyed the PDP’s categorical rejection of the “repugnant, pugnacious, and unlawful” guidelines set forth by the current administration. The party called upon fellow political parties, democratic enthusiasts, and institutions to unite in rejecting these fees.

The opposition party emphasized that these fee structures, which encompass a blanket payment of N5,000,000 for outdoor campaign materials, N2,000,000 for each billboard, N1,000,000 for each banner deployed, and an additional N50,000,000 to be deposited as a security caution, are draconian and unacceptable.

Olagbondiyan further noted that these measures expose the administration’s desperation and reveal that the APC’s popularity has waned due to public rejection leading up to the election.
