The publication alleged that Sylva was behind an effort to discredit Gbajabiamila as part of an attempt to influence federal board appointments and weaken the Chief of Staff’s position.
Former Minister of Petroleum, Sylva, dismissed the publication as a product of “scavenging mercenaries.” He rebuked the claims made in the article, which also alleged that he was attempting to sway INEC postings in favor of the APC in Bayelsa State. Sylva characterized the publication as a baseless attempt to tarnish his reputation.
In a statement, Sylva expressed concern over the quality of the article, noting that the publication credited an ambiguous “Our Reporter” as the author instead of the newspaper’s professional team.
He criticized the Bayelsa State Government for indulging in what he described as “low-rate, lethargic propaganda” funded by taxpayers’ money, rather than focusing on their governance responsibilities.
Sylva emphasized his commitment to democratic principles and transparent political practices, dismissing the allegations as baseless and reflective of desperation.
