PDP Committee Members Challenged To Expel Fayose With Life And Death PowerLere Olayinka, an aide to former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, has responded to the Dare Adeleke-led Caretaker Committee’s recommendation for Fayose’s expulsion from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In a statement, Olayinka challenged the committee to take definitive action and expel Fayose, rather than merely recommending it to the National Working Committee (NWC). “What are they waiting for? They should go ahead and expel Fayose since they now wield such power,” he said.

He questioned whether Fayose should be denied his autonomy, pointing out that Adeleke has publicly stated his mission was to remove Fayose from the Ekiti PDP. Olayinka remarked, “The committee was formed without including Fayose or his supporters, and we did not complain. We merely noted that counteractions are to be expected.”

He highlighted that Adeleke had created Local Government Caretaker Committees, which he argues lack legitimacy under the PDP constitution, and again, Fayose and his supporters did not object. “They’ve been holding meetings, boasting about removing Fayose from the PDP in Ekiti State, yet we remained silent.”

Olayinka further questioned what the committee truly wants from Fayose, likening their actions to barring someone from entering a house while denying them the right to seek hospitality elsewhere. He concluded by suggesting that since Adeleke claims to have completed his task of ousting Fayose, he should return to Ibadan and come back to Ekiti only in 2026 to vote for the PDP.
