The meeting, which was slated for June 30, 2025, at the PDP National Secretariat (Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja), was thwarted after security operatives sealed off the premises and barred members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) from entering.

In a statement shared via (formerly Twitter), the PDP claimed the APC was behind the chaos that engulfed its secretariat.
The post read:

“Federal Police and other security agencies, acting under the instruction of the All Progressives Congress (APC), are harassing our Board of Trustees members and staff at the PDP National Secretariat in a desperate attempt to halt the planned NEC meeting.”

Meanwhile, in a separate development, PDP stakeholders in Sokoto and Kebbi States have expressed their willingness to align with any credible political coalition dedicated to dislodging the APC in the 2027 general elections.

In Sokoto, key party figures, including former Governor Aminu Tambuwal, are reportedly considering a merger with the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) — one of the 110 political parties currently seeking registration with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Sources told Punch that the decision to defect from the PDP to ADA was reached during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held on Saturday.
