Obi asserts that a video shared by controversial social media influencer Reno Omokri, featuring his speech at Professor A.U. Nnonyelu’s inauguration, was edited to misrepresent his words. According to Obi, he did not call for war against Northerners but rather addressed economic hardship, insecurity, and corruption.

He explained, “There are deliberate and orchestrated attempts by some individuals to blackmail me and advance their malicious agendas. A video from my recent keynote speech at the installation of Rotarian Professor A. U. Nnonyelu was manipulated to falsely suggest I declared war on Northerners. In reality, I spoke against economic stagnation, insecurity, and corruption.”

Obi also clarified that another video, which purportedly shows him leading a protest in Abuja, was edited and misrepresented. The footage was actually from his visit to the Labour Party headquarters in Abuja, where he was mediating a conflict between the Labour Party and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

He criticized the spread of these edited videos, claiming they were financially motivated. Obi emphasized that misinformation undermines democracy, where truth and integrity should prevail.

“This misrepresentation is part of a broader attempt to blackmail me and fit me into their harmful narrative. I am dedicated to a new Nigeria where justice, fairness, and the well-being of citizens take precedence over the greed of a few,” Obi concluded.
