The strike action, which saw public sector workers downing tools across key Nigerian states including Kano, Oyo, Abuja, Lagos, and Edo, prompted an urgent response from the presidency.
President Tinubu, alongside the Governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde, and the GCEO of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, engaged in productive discussions with NLC President, Joe Ajaero, and TUC President, Festus Osifo.
During the meeting, President Tinubu committed to address a number of pressing issues presented by the union leaders. It is hoped that this move will lead to a resolution that appeases the unions and restores the country’s public services to full operation. CONTINUE READING
