Adejobi detailed that the task force had intercepted and recovered 250,000 liters of crude oil, 350,000 liters of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and 118 liters of Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS). Additionally, 13 trucks involved in the illicit activities were seized.
The police spokesman noted that these operations were conducted in collaboration with Tantita Security Services Ltd. The task force also secured a court order for the interim forfeiture of a vessel known as the “Thug Boat,” operating under the name MV Aya Oba Olori II, which contained 50,000 liters of AGO.
The court ordered that the vessel be held in police custody while efforts continue to track and apprehend the remaining suspects. Adejobi emphasized that these actions demonstrate the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to tackling petroleum theft and illegal bunkering and pledged ongoing efforts to safeguard the country’s petroleum resources.
