Who Stole The Meat From The Cooking Pot? Obaseki, Nehikhare, And The Great Edo Rice Heist Revealed!(Video)Who stole the meat from the cooking pot? Was it you, Number One? Me? Yes you …couldn’t be. Then who? This was a game we played as kids, forming a circle and making faces of denial while singing, “Who, me? Yes, you couldn’t be. Then who?” If you didn’t quickly shout your denial, you were out of the game.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
This is precisely what’s unfolding in Edo State with the 22 bags of rice received from Tinubu’s administration. Last week, a trailer carrying these palliatives was seized and looted by protesting Edo youths. The truth is coming out now. It’s like the chickens coming home to roost—what was once hidden is now exposed.
The breeze has blown, and the fowl’s Yansh is open: Edo people have seen through Obaseki’s deceit. He received the trailers of palliatives, re-packaged them as if they were from the state government, and plans to distribute them to sway voters in favor of his party.
The Edo State government has come out with a dramatic denial, claiming they haven’t received any rice from the APC-led federal government. But let’s be honest, Obaseki’s denial game is so strong it could win a gold medal. His track record? Deny, deny, deny—just like he did with rice during the COVID-19 lockdown and with the IDP camps in Edo. Now he’s up to his old tricks again. It’s no wonder he’s earned the title ‘Riceocrat.’ Clearly, his expertise isn’t in governance but in cooking up excuses and serving up denial!
Recently, during a morning briefing on Channels TV, the Edo State Commissioner for Information, Chris Nehikhare, was asked if they received trailers of rice from the federal government. Suddenly, he was stammering like he’d just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar. ‘Yes, but…’ he mumbled, as if he was trying to come up with a magic trick to make the rice—and the truth—disappear!
This whole debacle feels like a throwback to the childhood game ‘Who Stole the Meat from the Cooking Pot?’—a classic blame-passing extravaganza. Channels TV asked Chris, ‘Who stole the Federal Government’s palliatives?’ His stammering response? ‘Who, me?’—‘Yes, you couldn’t be!’—‘Then who?’ And, lo and behold, Chris pointed the finger at Obaseki! It’s a real shame to see Obaseki turning rice into his personal playground. Seriously, playing games with rice? Imagine that!
