According to the statement, the suspects were arrested following a report from the victim’s brother, who reported that Dahiru Musa was missing and expressed strong suspicions about one of his close associates’ involvement in his disappearance.

Haruna explained, “On September 29, 2024, at approximately 7:30 PM, a resident of Dorayi Quarters reported that his brother, Dahiru Musa, 32, was missing and suspected one of the deceased’s close associates, Aliyu Adamu, 22, from Gaida Yan-Kusa Quarters, Kumbotso LGA, to be involved. Aliyu was the last person to contact him before his disappearance.”

Following the report, a team of detectives took swift action and arrested Aliyu Adamu on September 30, 2024. During questioning, he confessed to conspiring with his friend, Mubarak Abdulsalam, 20, from Mandawari Quarters, to lure the victim to his house under the guise of discussing a land transaction.

Adamu reportedly offered the victim poisoned food, and when Musa became unconscious, he and Abdulsalam stabbed him to death. They then disposed of his body in a sack, leaving it in an uncompleted building near Adamu’s residence.

Further investigation revealed that Adamu aimed to seize the deceased’s property, as he had possession of the land documents. When Mubarak Abdulsalam learned of Adamu’s arrest, he conspired with another accomplice, Sadiq Sunusi, 19, also from Mandawari Quarters, to burn the victim’s body using petrol in an attempt to destroy evidence. The remains were later taken to Murtala Mohammed Specialists Hospital Kano for an autopsy.
