Despite this, Abbas expressed deep appreciation for the current Governor, Uba Sani, commending his unwavering support and efforts in ensuring his success as Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives.
Speaking at an empowerment programme, Abbas described El-Rufai’s stance as disappointing and unexpected.
“It remains unfortunate and deeply surprising to me that the previous Kaduna State administration was the leading force against my speakership ambition. The person who truly stood by me and did everything possible to support my emergence as Speaker is Governor Uba Sani,” he said.
Abbas also disclosed that President Bola Tinubu personally urged him to express gratitude to Governor Sani for playing a pivotal role in his victory.
“President Tinubu told me directly, ‘Thank God, but also thank Uba Sani for your speakership,’” Abbas added.
