Political Twist: Kano All Progressives Congress Blocks Automatic Tickets, Declares Support For Abba Yusuf

The forms were formally presented by former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, during a stakeholders’ meeting held on Thursday. The gesture was widely seen as a symbolic endorsement of Yusuf as the party’s preferred gubernatorial candidate.

At the same meeting, party leaders also backed Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the APC’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.

Despite these endorsements, the stakeholders made it clear that automatic tickets would not be granted to other aspirants. They emphasized that all remaining positions would be decided through the party’s internal mechanisms, including consensus arrangements.

While presenting the forms, Ganduje stated that party leaders in the state had collectively agreed to support Yusuf’s bid for a second term and urged him to complete and submit the required documents in line with party guidelines.

The motion to adopt Tinubu was moved by Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi and received unanimous backing from those in attendance.

Earlier, the Kano APC Chairman, Umar Haruna Doguwa, explained that the party had initially intended to purchase nomination forms for Tinubu as a show of support, but noted that others had already done so beforehand.
