The collapse occurred on Wednesday afternoon, affecting several parts of the nation.

A tweet from the official National Grid X handle confirmed that the grid failure took place at around 2:09 pm, stating, “The major grid setback has occurred, and restoration efforts will begin.”

This marks the 12th collapse of the electricity grid in 2024. From January to November, the grid had collapsed 11 times, with a particularly troubling week in October when the grid failed three times, causing widespread blackouts.
