Kwankwaso, through his legal representatives, Magaji Mato Ibrahim (SAN) & Co., accused the cleric of making false and damaging statements capable of harming his reputation and political standing.

In a letter dated June 11, 2026, and shared on X by Kwankwaso’s media aide, Saifullahi Hassan, the former governor’s legal team claimed that Ayodele made the alleged remarks during a sermon that was recorded, livestreamed, and subsequently circulated across social media platforms and news outlets.

According to the lawyers, the cleric allegedly suggested that Kwankwaso was not genuine in his political alliance with the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, and implied that financial inducement played a role in his emergence as a running mate.

Responding to the allegations, Primate Ayodele, through a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, maintained that he had no intention of defaming the former governor and that his comments were based solely on what he described as divine revelations.

The cleric emphasized that he holds Kwankwaso in high regard and that his prophecies are not influenced by personal relationships, sentiments, or political considerations.

Ayodele further stated that he has never met Kwankwaso personally and has no reason to deliberately attack or undermine him.

According to him, the prophecy in question was misunderstood and misrepresented by individuals with vested political interests, leading to an interpretation that differed from its original intent.

He expressed regret that the matter escalated into a legal dispute, insisting that a request for clarification would have resolved any misunderstanding surrounding the message.

The religious leader also urged public figures and individuals mentioned in his prophecies to seek explanations before issuing threats or accusations.

In addition, he warned against the manipulation or selective editing of his videos for political, personal, or partisan purposes, describing such actions as misleading and unacceptable.

Ayodele stated that anyone found deliberately altering his messages to advance ulterior motives could face appropriate legal or administrative action.

He reiterated that his prophetic messages are intended to convey what he believes to be divine guidance and should not be interpreted as personal attacks on any individual.
