The announcement, made on Monday, reinforces NNPCL’s dedication to rolling out cleaner energy alternatives across the country, one city at a time.
As part of a broader clean energy strategy, NNPCL is intensifying efforts to increase the availability of CNG fueling stations, particularly in Lagos and Abuja, aiming to provide Nigerians with a cost-effective and environmentally friendly option to petrol.
“We’re now operational in Abeokuta, Abuja, and Ibadan. With every new station, we are bringing Nigerians closer to affordable and cleaner transportation energy,” NNPCL said in a statement issued on June 23.
Previously, CNG stations had been commissioned in key Lagos locations, including Lateef Jakande (Agidingbi), Agege Motor Road (Mushin), Lekki-Epe Expressway (Sangotedo), and Mobile Road (Apapa).
In a recent expansion, six mobile CNG refuelling stations were introduced at Fola Agoro (Shomolu LGA), Alapere SS, Marina, Agege Bypass (Idimangoro), Lakowe SS, and Odogunyan SS (Ikorodu).
The existing CNG stations in Lagos and Abuja currently have the capacity to dispense over six million standard cubic feet of gas daily, effectively serving up to 15,000 vehicles per day.
