Omokri, expressing his views on Twitter, questioned the apparent silence of Obi and Ezekwesili, stating; “If President Tinubu was funding the Federal Budget with 71% borrowing, would Peter Obi and Oby Ezekwesili be quiet? Look at how Obi has been criticizing Tinubu’s budget. Yet, he has not said anything as Abia State Governor Alex Otti funds his 2024 budget of ₦567.2 billion with ₦401 loans. What type of madness will make a government borrow 71% of the money they want to spend?.”

“Of the ₦567.2 billion budget that Governor Otti presented to the Abia State House of Assembly,₦401 billion is coming from loans. How can over 70% of your budget be debt? Really? And Nigerians are leaving Otti to focus on Tinubu? If Tinubu was funding the federal budget with 70% debt, would these people be quiet? Would the Joe Ajaero-led Nigerian Labour Congress be silent? Would Arise Peoples Party be this sublime? Is this how they want to move Nigeria ‘from consumption to production’? This is the same Otti that was buying brand new cars for his appointees. This Labour Party is more flawed than the PDP and APC they claim they are better than!.”
