Ago highlighted the provisions of the Police Act, stating that it explicitly mandates the establishment of Community Policing Committees at both state and Divisional Police Headquarters. He emphasized the collaboration between the Commissioner of Police and local communities, calling for the effective implementation of these structures.

In response to the motion, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas mandated the House Committees on Police Affairs and Legislative Compliance to engage with the Inspector-General of Police, ensuring compliance with the community policing provisions within four weeks.

Simultaneously, the House directed the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, and the Inspector-General to deploy additional personnel to address security challenges in the Fika/Fune Federal Constituency of Yobe State. This decision followed a motion of urgent public importance sponsored by Mohammed Jajere, representing Fika/Fune Federal Constituency. Jajere highlighted a recent incident in Gurjaje settlement, where suspected bandits attacked, resulting in casualties and significant property damage.

Expressing concern, Jajere emphasized the economic impact on the region, with displaced rural dwellers and disrupted agricultural activities causing considerable economic loss to Fika Local Government Area and the nation as a whole.
