Speaking at the 2025 Stakeholders’ Forum held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, CAC Registrar-General, Malam Hussaini Magaji (SAN), confirmed the development.
In a statement released on Wednesday, July 2, the Commission described the upgraded portal as a complete overhaul of the existing Company Registration Portal (CRP), aimed at enhancing the ease of doing business in the country.
“This is a significant milestone in Nigeria’s business facilitation journey,” Magaji stated.
He explained that the new AI-driven system enables instant name reservation approvals, comparing the simplicity of the process to creating an email account.
“One of the key innovations is that a business can now be registered using just the National Identification Number (NIN) of a director or proprietor,” he added.
According to Magaji, the new platform is designed to complete business registration and generate certificates within 30 minutes, depending on real-time NIN validation.
The AI system can also suggest alternative business names and approve available ones instantly, eliminating the delays previously experienced during the name search process.
Magaji assured stakeholders that the platform will reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks and align Nigeria’s business registration procedures with global standards.
The full rollout of the AI-powered registration system is expected after the successful completion of the pilot phase, with the aim of significantly cutting down processing time and boosting business formalisation across the country.
