RHOL Star Mariam Trimmer Reveals Secret Health Battle: ‘I Filmed While Fighting Thyroid Crisis

In an interview, she revealed that undergoing IVF treatment alongside a thyroid disorder took a heavy toll on her physically and emotionally. She explained that her fertility journey triggered several health complications, and the stress from it affected her mood and reactions throughout the show.

According to Mariam, many viewers did not realise that her on-screen behaviour was influenced by the intense personal struggles she was facing off-camera.

She also described the confusion and frustration that came with discovering the thyroid condition, especially since she was already dealing with fibroids and had been committed to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The combination of all these challenges, she said, made that period extremely difficult.

Before joining the show, Mariam earned a degree in political science, worked in public relations, and later became a mother. She joined RHOL in the first season from episode four, and said she simply tried to remain true to herself throughout her screen time.

In a separate interview, she spoke about the pressure many women endure while facing fertility or health-related struggles. She said she chose to share her story because many women suffer in silence due to fear or cultural expectations, even though their experiences are not unique.

Mariam added that she still hopes to have another child someday, but she is no longer putting herself under any pressure.
