She also described the confusion and frustration that came with discovering the thyroid condition, especially since she was already dealing with fibroids and had been committed to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Before joining the show, Mariam earned a degree in political science, worked in public relations, and later became a mother. She joined RHOL in the first season from episode four, and said she simply tried to remain true to herself throughout her screen time.
