The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has claimed that Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, is surrounded by individuals secretly plotting to take his position.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking at a grand reception hosted by the Kalabari people on Saturday, Wike alleged that the people advising Fubara do not have his best interests at heart, but are instead working towards his downfall.

Wike specifically singled out Tammy Danagogo, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), as a key figure behind the political rift between him and his successor.

He said, “The problem began when Danagogo, the Secretary to the government, used his elder brother, who is a justice, to secure an ex-parte order stating that 27 members of the Rivers Assembly had defected, unnoticed. He also used the same order to claim that the governor could present the budget to just three or four lawmakers.”

Wike accused Danagogo of harboring bitterness for not securing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket and using his influence to stir up a crisis in the state.

“Look at Danagogo, who wanted to be governor. He was so upset that he didn’t get the ticket; he was the one trailing the governor, and Fubara didn’t even know. He’ll lead you (Fubara) to disaster,” Wike said.

Wike warned that Fubara’s inner circle is made up of individuals who previously sought the governorship position but were denied.

“You (Fubara) surrounded yourself with people who wanted to be governor and whom I rejected. These people don’t have Rivers State’s best interest at heart. They’re the ones advising you, and you think they want you to succeed?

“They’ll give you bad advice, and look at the damage it’s causing. You’re already down 2-0, and there’s more to come. They come to you, insult me, and you’re happy. You don’t realize they’re the ones plotting your downfall,” he said.
