Sacked Commissioners Cry Out Over Return, Link Controversy To N11bn Security Funds

Some recently sacked commissioners in Ondo State have accused the retained Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac, of plotting to fill the new cabinet with her loyalists.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

They also expressed concerns over what they described as her excessive influence in Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration.

Governor Aiyedatiwa had dismissed all commissioners and cabinet members just days before the last local government elections, retaining only Mrs. Isaac and the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Kayode Ajulo, SAN.

Speaking anonymously to Vanguard, some of the affected commissioners alleged that Mrs. Isaac suspects them of being behind a petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) regarding her handling of state funds. The petition reportedly questioned the management of an N11.5 billion security vote, N230 million allocated for her official vehicle, and a N1.5 billion contingency fund for her ministry in the 2025 budget.

According to them, the finance commissioner is not only exerting control over major financial decisions but is also actively working to fill the new cabinet with individuals loyal to her.
