Saraki Defiant: PDP Will Battle Through Crisis To Contest 2027 Elections
Former Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has expressed optimism that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will take part in the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking during an interview with LEADERSHIP on Thursday, Saraki said Nigerians who witnessed the party’s performance while in power would ensure it remains a strong contender.
While acknowledging internal disagreements within the party, he noted that leaders across various factions have agreed that participating in the 2027 elections is a top priority.
According to him, party stakeholders are focused on ensuring that aspirants can contest for elective positions under the PDP platform.
Saraki stated that regardless of political alignments within the party, there is a shared commitment to keeping the PDP united and ready for the next elections.
He stressed that any issues capable of undermining the party’s ability to participate must be resolved, noting that reaching this point required significant effort.
Saraki also highlighted the need for a functional leadership structure, emphasizing the importance of establishing a capable National Working Committee (NWC) to effectively organise the party and prepare for the 2027 polls.
