The faction of the party aligned with Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has already fixed the same date for its convention.
Speaking during an interview with LEADERSHIP on Thursday, Saraki dismissed claims that the former ruling party has lost relevance, insisting it still commands widespread support across Nigeria.
He noted that despite the internal crisis, the PDP remains firmly rooted among Nigerians, particularly at the grassroots level.
According to him, the party continues to be the dominant opposition force in the country and cannot be written off.
Saraki acknowledged ongoing disagreements within the party but stressed that its leaders are committed to resolving the issues and preserving unity.
He added that the forthcoming convention is expected to address many of the lingering disputes affecting the party.
The former Kwara State governor also admitted that errors made during the earlier Ibadan convention contributed to the current legal challenges, noting that efforts are now focused on dialogue and reconciliation.
Saraki further stated that party leaders are working to ensure the PDP remains competitive ahead of the 2027 general elections, expressing hope that the convention will unite members and position the party for a stronger outing at the polls.
