Sources claim that the current judge presiding over the case is intentionally prolonging proceedings under the influence of Jonathan.

One source stated, “Since 2019, former First Lady Patience Jonathan has detained about 16 of her domestic staff in Okaka Prison on allegations of stealing her jewelry, without allowing a competent court to try and sentence them. A relative of one of the detained workers revealed that the staff, numbering 15, have been incarcerated at Okaka Prison since 2019. They were employed as domestic workers for Patience Jonathan. The arrests occurred following a reported break-in at one of Jonathan’s apartments in Otuoke, even though the detained workers were not on duty at the location at the time.

The source added that despite the accusations of armed robbery, malicious damage, attempted murder, and theft, no substantial evidence has been presented in court, and the case remains stagnant with repeated claims of awaiting witnesses.
