He expressed these views during an online interactive forum called “HaveYourSay247,” moderated by Rudolf Okonkwo.
Adebayo recalled how he had cautioned stakeholders about INEC’s lack of sincerity well before the presidential election on February 25. He emphasized that INEC’s promise to electronically transmit election results was nothing more than a deception.
The legal practitioner raised concerns about the credibility of INEC’s ability to conduct fair elections. He pointed out that individuals cannot approach the commission for political party registration, file reports, or invite them to party conventions without the need to offer bribes.
Reflecting on his election campaign efforts, Adewole mentioned that he extensively toured the country’s various regions.
He also noted that even prominent figures in Nigerian history, such as Obafemi Awolowo and Nnamdi Azikiwe, did not succeed in becoming President despite their popularity.
Addressing why he chose not to contest the outcome of the presidential election in court, the SDP candidate explained that pursuing legal action would have been futile, as not every wrongdoing can be rectified through legal means.
