Secret Peacemakers Revealed: Atiku’s Ally Unveils Plot To Unite Warring Political Titans
Paul Ibe, spokesperson to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has said that delegates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will ultimately resolve any perceived dispute among key opposition leaders.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Ibe made this known during an interview with Trust TV, where he addressed concerns over possible internal conflict following the formation of the opposition coalition.
Recall that a new political alliance—spearheaded by Atiku—recently adopted the ADC as its platform to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections. The coalition brought together high-profile politicians, including Peter Obi, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, David Mark, John Odigie-Oyegun, Rauf Aregbesola, Rotimi Amaechi, and Abubakar Malami.
During the coalition’s unveiling, David Mark was named National Chairman, while Rauf Aregbesola emerged as National Secretary.
Shortly after the launch, both Obi and Amaechi reportedly expressed their interest in vying for the presidency on the ADC platform. Although Atiku has not publicly declared his intentions, speculation continues to grow.
Addressing rumors of a brewing clash over the party’s presidential ticket, Ibe explained that the party’s internal democratic processes would determine the outcome.
“What Atiku, Obi, or Amaechi says is secondary. Ultimately, democracy will prevail. It is the party delegates—through either direct or indirect primaries—who will decide. The supposed tension among them will be resolved by the will of the delegates,” he said.
He also criticized the current administration, stating, “Maybe it’s because Tinubu’s regime has eroded the essence of democracy, pushing Nigeria toward a one-party system. Democracy is about choice, and people have the right to choose.”
Ibe urged supporters to campaign peacefully and respect the party’s constitutionally defined process, emphasizing that the delegates must be allowed to do their job.
