According to Punch, the retired military chief arrived at the State House at 7:03 p.m. on Monday and was escorted into the President’s office wing by a senior security official.
This marks Musa’s first public engagement with the Presidency since President Tinubu approved his retirement from military service on October 24, 2025.
Wearing dark-green northern traditional attire with elbow-length sleeves, the former defence chief was seen walking into the Presidential Villa before the meeting commenced.
As of the time this report was filed, the agenda of the closed-door discussion had not been disclosed.
The meeting comes amid growing security concerns across Northern Nigeria, including the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State, the attack on worshippers in Eruku, Kwara State, and the kidnapping of Catholic schoolchildren in Minna.
Security agencies in the North-West and North-Central regions have since intensified counter-terrorism and anti-kidnapping operations, deploying more troops, intelligence platforms, and rapid-response units to vulnerable areas.
Meanwhile, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, on Monday assured the public that the children abducted from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary School in Papiri, Agwarra Local Government Area of Niger State, will be safely rescued.
Ribadu gave the assurance during his visit to the state, where he also met with the Catholic Bishop of Kontagora Diocese, Most Rev. Bulus Yohanna, as well as families of the victims at St. Michael’s Catholic Cathedral, Kontagora.
