Seven Nigerian Sisters Silence Critics With Lavish Burial For Father Who Was Mocked for Having Only Girls

Seven Nigerian sisters have attracted attention online after coming together to give their late father a befitting burial, years after their parents were reportedly mocked for having only female children.

One of the daughters, identified as Peace, shared the development in a Facebook post, celebrating the successful burial and using the occasion to challenge the belief that only sons can adequately honour and support their parents.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Peace disclosed that she and her six sisters contributed towards making their father’s final ceremony memorable. She revealed that they provided two cows and a pig for the burial, demonstrating their commitment to celebrating their father’s life despite the absence of male children in the family.

In her post, Peace declared that although they were all daughters, they united to ensure their father received the dignified burial he deserved.

She also urged parents, particularly those blessed with only female children, to raise their daughters with love and confidence rather than making them feel inadequate because they do not have sons.

Peace stressed that daughters can grow into sources of immense pride, happiness and support for their families when given proper care and encouragement.

She further recalled that her parents had faced ridicule from people because they had no male children. However, she noted that those who once mocked the family were now praising the sisters for the way they honoured their father.

Emphasising her message, Peace maintained that having daughters should never be regarded as a disadvantage, describing her family as proof that female children are equally capable of standing by their parents and fulfilling family responsibilities.

The sisters’ gesture has sparked conversations about gender expectations, the value of female children and the importance of recognising daughters as an equally precious blessing to their families.
