Sh*ck In Ondo APC As Two Sitting Senators Crash Out In Primary Election

Two serving senators from Ondo State have failed to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) tickets to return to the National Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Senators Adeniyi Adegbonmire and Olajide Ipinsagba, representing Ondo Central and Ondo North Senatorial Districts respectively, lost during the party’s senatorial primaries.

Following the exercise, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti, Isaac Kekemeke, and Gbenga Otolorin Elegbeleye emerged as APC candidates for Ondo Central, Ondo South, and Ondo North Senatorial Districts respectively.

The results were announced at the APC State Secretariat in Akure by the Chairman of the National Assembly Primary Election Committee, Hon. Iboroma Harry Dabibi, after returning officers submitted the results from the three districts.

Announcing the Ondo Central result, Dabibi disclosed that Dr Taiwo Fasoranti won the primary with 36,652 votes.

He added that the incumbent senator, Adegbonmire, polled 5,733 votes, while Sylvester Muyiwa Adu secured 1,245 votes.

For Ondo South Senatorial District, Isaac Kekemeke emerged victorious after scoring 35,000 votes.

According to the committee chairman, Akinfolarin Mayowa Samuel polled 6,435 votes, Barrister Morayo Lebi got 1,875 votes, while Akingboye Taiwo Oyewumi recorded 842 votes.

He further revealed that Princess Catherine Oladunni Odu secured 290 votes, Rt. Hon. Jumoke Akindele polled 339 votes, while Agboola Ajayi received 670 votes.

In the Ondo North Senatorial District primary, Dabibi announced that Gbenga Elegbeleye won with 28,062 votes.

He said Ajipe Alex scored 17,313 votes, while incumbent Senator Olajide Ipinsagba received 9,819 votes.

Adeogun Adejoro polled 3,845 votes, Abdul Tunji Muhammed (ATM) got 1,076 votes, and Michael Adeyanju secured 640 votes.

If officially ratified by the APC National Working Committee (NWC), the outcome means the two serving senators will not return to the Senate after the 2027 elections.
