A technical issue with his aircraft has redirected Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima from his journey to represent President Bola Tinubu at the 2024 US-Africa Business Summit in Dallas, Texas.
As per a statement from Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President, the Presidential Air Fleet advised Shettima to abort the trip due to the fault.
In light of this development, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, will now take on the responsibility of representing President Tinubu at the Business Summit.
The statement clarified, “Vice President Kashim Shettima, who was originally scheduled to represent the President, was unable to make the trip following a technical fault with his aircraft, forcing him to make a detour on the advice of the Presidential Air Fleet. The Vice President will carry on with other national duties.”
