Speaking on Channels Television on Wednesday, Lawal maintained that the party’s recent national convention remains valid despite INEC’s absence.

He explained that the ADC acted based on legal advice and described the convention as successful, despite what he alleged were attempts by the government to hinder the process.

Lawal insisted that INEC does not have the final authority to determine the party’s participation in the elections, stressing that the ADC would be on the ballot regardless of the commission’s position.

He also stated that the party is confident in its ability to address Nigeria’s challenges, citing the experience and capacity of its members. However, he added that the party’s immediate focus is to prevent the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from continuing in power.
