A socio-political organization named Arewa New Agenda (ANA) has come forward to advocate for backing the recently appointed Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, asserting that unwarranted criticisms regarding his competency are unjustified.

ANA envisions a future where the Northern region of Nigeria prospers, exudes dynamism, and assumes accountability for its own destiny.
In light of the new ministers assuming their roles, ANA expressed dissatisfaction with what it perceived as unjust attacks aimed at some of the ministers.
These criticisms, according to ANA, have been veiled in religious and ethnic biases even prior to the ministers fully settling into their positions.
MoAllahyidi remarked, “H.E. Mohammed Abubakar Badaru, the newly appointed Minister of Defence, has particularly faced baseless criticism.
During his eight-year tenure as the Governor of Jigawa State, he exhibited an outstanding record of ensuring security, peace, and harmonious coexistence despite the state’s geographical vulnerabilities.”
“Despite being adjacent to regions and states plagued by insecurity, Jigawa stands out as one of the few Northern states that have remained relatively unaffected by security concerns.
Given his history of safeguarding territorial integrity, we believe that Badaru is well-suited to lead the Ministry of Defence.”
ANA underscored the cultural and traditional importance of supporting and respecting leadership. The organization dismissed any calls for Badaru’s dismissal as being premature and unfounded.
MoAllahyidi further emphasized, “ANA remains steadfast in its commitment to foster social harmony and peaceful coexistence as Nigeria continues its journey towards national progress.
Undoubtedly, Nigeria is currently grappling with some of its most challenging times on the path to nationhood.”
“While the demand for forward-thinking ministers capable of harnessing both human and material resources to improve citizens’ lives is nationwide, it is even more pressing for the Northern region.”
ANA applauded the 45 recently sworn-in ministers and encouraged them to strive for excellence, recognizing that their appointments offer a fresh opportunity to drive socio-economic advancements.
The organization, however, cautioned against extravagant displays of office privileges amid the nation’s economic challenges.
Additionally, ANA called upon ministers hailing from the Northern region to diligently work for the betterment of both the North and the entirety of Nigeria.
