This decision was approved during the university’s 171st regular meeting on March 12, 2025, and was officially communicated through a press release issued by Ismail Mohammed Yauri, the Director of Information and Public Relations. The statement emphasized that the action was in line with UDUS’s strict “zero tolerance” policy on unethical behavior.

The university’s statement underscored its commitment to upholding academic integrity and ensuring a safe environment for both staff and students. As one of the leading universities in northern Nigeria, UDUS has long prioritized ethical standards among its faculty and student body, and the recent dismissals are a firm reminder of the institution’s commitment to maintaining these values.

Efforts to obtain further comments from university officials regarding the identities of the dismissed staff and any potential legal actions were unsuccessful at the time of this report.

Student reactions to the dismissals have been mixed. Some students commend the university for taking a strong stance on discipline, while others call for greater transparency in handling such cases.
