Sowore Reacts As Court Jails Bobrisky For Six Months....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for its focus on the sentencing of Nigerian cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky. Bobrisky was recently sentenced to six months in jail without the option of a fine by a court in Lagos State for ‘abuse of naira’.

Sowore, taking to his official handle on Friday, lambasted the EFCC for prioritizing Bobrisky’s case instead of pursuing individuals responsible for the economic downturn in Nigeria. He pointed out that former President Muhammadu Buhari, ex-Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami, and former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele, who caused significant economic harm, have not faced similar consequences.

Expressing skepticism over Bobrisky’s conviction, Sowore highlighted the glaring disparity in the EFCC’s actions, suggesting that the cross-dresser’s true offense likely isn’t solely related to currency abuse. He emphasized that the agency’s resources should be directed towards prosecuting those accountable for Nigeria’s financial woes, citing a backlog of cases involving serious financial criminals, some dating back to 2007.

Sowore urged the EFCC to shift its focus onto legitimate financial crimes and hold accountable those responsible for sabotaging the nation’s economy. He concluded by calling for a reevaluation of the EFCC’s priorities and a swift response to cases involving genuine economic offenders.
