According to her, many women have shared that their husbands begin to feel insecure once they achieve financial success.

Speaking in a recent interview, Blessing clarified that men don’t necessarily fear women’s success — rather, they are uncomfortable with the shifts in behavior that often accompany it. She explained that success can lead women to adopt traditionally masculine traits, such as dominance and control, which can create friction in relationships.

She noted that when a woman starts to contribute financially, she may, consciously or not, begin to challenge her husband’s role as the provider — a role deeply tied to male identity.

“No man is intimidated by your success,” she said. “What they fear is the masculinity that success often brings. Once a woman earns her own money, she unconsciously takes on the role of a man. The power to provide is what defines a man — and when a woman starts to wield that power, she might begin to compete instead of complement.”

Blessing, a mother of two, advised high-earning women to remain soft and continue fulfilling their roles as wives, regardless of income differences.

She warned: “If you start flaunting your earnings or comparing salaries, your husband might begin to pull away — either by cheating with a woman who’s more submissive or walking out of the marriage entirely.”
