Tacha Breaks Silence After Arrest, Denies Alleged ₦5 Million Fraud
Reality TV star Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has broken her silence following her recent arrest in connection with an alleged ₦5 million fraud case, insisting that she had no involvement in the transaction at the centre of the complaint.
Tacha was reportedly arrested at her residence in Lagos on Sunday, August 30, after allegedly failing to respond to previous invitations from the police regarding the matter.
The controversy reportedly began after a social media user accused the former Big Brother Naija housemate of receiving ₦5 million from a woman who was seeking financial assistance for her husband’s kidney transplant.
The allegation subsequently gained widespread attention on social media, prompting police authorities to become involved in the matter.
Speaking about the case, Tacha denied having any prior relationship or communication with the woman at the centre of the complaint. She maintained that she had never spoken to the woman before the allegation emerged online.
According to the reality TV star, she first became aware of the accusation through social media posts allegedly made by a user identified as Olajide, operating under the handle @joph007_. She said the posts linked her to the alleged ₦5 million payment while also containing abusive comments directed at her.
Tacha expressed surprise over the allegation, stressing that she had no connection with the woman reportedly seeking financial assistance for her husband’s medical treatment.
She further denied receiving the alleged ₦5 million or playing any role in the transaction, describing the accusation as false.
The reality TV star said she was cooperating with the authorities to establish the facts surrounding the matter and clear her name.
Tacha’s statement comes amid continued public interest in the case, with the allegations generating significant discussion across social media platforms.
