Lagos State Warns Against Violence Amid Nationwide Protest Activity

SaharaReporters previously reported that the Nigerian police had intensified their crackdown on peaceful protesters opposing hunger, hardship, and poor governance under President Bola Tinubu’s administration. During this crackdown, Kunle Wizeman Ajayi, the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate for the upcoming Ondo State election, was arrested in Akure alongside Patrick Owolabi on the tenth day of the nationwide protest.

The Take-It-Back leadership condemned the arrest of Ajayi and Owolabi, calling it both unfortunate and disgraceful. The movement’s X post criticized the police’s actions, stating, “It is regrettable that the @PoliceNG continues to suppress peaceful #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protesters.
