According to Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, the Task Force spokesman, the officersā misconduct was recorded during the operation, which resulted in several arrests. The officers, Fatai Yusuf (42) and Hammed Garuba (38), both paramilitary officers within the agency, were found guilty of taking phones from the scene.
Following a thorough investigation by the Task Forceās Disciplinary Committee, the two officers were dismissed from their positions and will face prosecution for theft. The Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, CSP Adetayo Akerele, condemned their actions in the strongest terms.
āThe actions of these officers were unacceptable and a betrayal of the integrity of the Task Force,ā Akerele said. āWe are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, and any violation of ethical conduct will be met with strict consequences.ā
The statement emphasized that the Task Force operates with principles of discipline, justice, and fairness, and any behavior that undermines the agencyās credibility will be dealt with swiftly and decisively.
