A leaked memo with file number 58957/S.I/T6/419, signed by the SGF, George Akume, sought approval for the sum of One Billion Naira for the inauguration of the new National Minimum Wage committee. The memo was sent to President Bola Tinubu on January 18, 2024.

AIT correspondent Ebuwa Omo-Osagie, who sought confirmation by telephone from the director of information in the office of the SGF, Segun Imohiosen, at about 10 am Friday, was told to step down the story and wait for clarification.
