This adage serves as a reminder that when individuals accuse or criticize others, they may have their own faults or imperfections that demand introspection and self-improvement.

Dele Momodu’s recent attempt to provide justifications on behalf of the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has raised questions. His explanations, alibis, and rationales appear unconvincing and lack a solid foundation, akin to stones in a bag that do not settle in one place. Atiku’s own political journey has not been without inconsistencies, which have cast shadows over his integrity.

One cannot overlook the controversy surrounding Atiku’s work experience at the Nigeria Customs, which has created doubts about his credibility. It is ironic that Atiku, who himself faces discrepancies in his credentials, has chosen to focus on questioning the credentials of others, such as President Tinubu.

In the case of President Tinubu’s certificate from Chicago State University, Atiku has chosen to misrepresent the facts, despite the university confirming his attendance and graduation with honors. This raises questions about the transparency of Atiku’s own educational records, especially when he resides in a metaphorical “glass house.”

Additionally, the choice of Dele Momodu as Atiku’s spokesperson on this matter is noteworthy. Why did Atiku not seek clarification directly from Tinubu’s spokesperson or a cabinet member if he had genuine concerns about Tinubu’s education?

In conclusion, Atiku Abubakar, as a prominent leader and public figure, should practice self-awareness and empathy. Instead of hastily passing judgment or pointing fingers, he should reflect on his own actions and motivations. Recognizing that everyone has unique circumstances and striving to understand others’ perspectives can lead to more meaningful connections and help avoid the pitfalls of hypocrisy.
