They Called The Police On A 3-Year-Old — Family Speaks Out After Toddler’s Soccer Match Controversy

A three-year-old Black boy and his family were reportedly escorted off a soccer field by police officers in Winter Park, Florida, following complaints from parents of opposing players who allegedly struggled to take the ball away from the toddler during a match.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the child, identified as Nevada, was participating in an i9 Sports youth soccer league against children aged five when the incident occurred.

The family claimed that the league removed the toddler from the programme because he repeatedly dominated games, prompting some parents to complain that the matches were becoming unfair to their children.

Nevada’s family shared their account of the incident on TikTok through the account Nevadaney10, alleging that they received a trespass notice before police officers escorted them away from the field in front of other children and spectators.

In the video, the boy’s father expressed disbelief over the incident, questioning why law enforcement officers had become involved in a dispute concerning a young child playing soccer.

“They really called the police on a 3-year-old because he had the ball too much,” he said.

According to the family, some parents of opposing players accused Nevada of trying to show off his abilities during the games. His mother, however, defended her son, insisting that he was simply enjoying the sport rather than deliberately embarrassing other children.

“Those grown-ups huddled up talking about my son… but he ain’t doing nothing but playing soccer,” she said.

The incident has drawn attention to questions about fairness, age-appropriate competition and how youth sports leagues should handle differences in ability among young players.

While the family’s account has sparked reactions online, the circumstances surrounding the reported trespass notice and police involvement have not been independently verified. The league’s account of the incident was not included in the information provided.
