However, Muftwang dismissed such insinuations, stating:
“There’s absolutely no truth in it. I have never even considered leaving the PDP. The party gave me the opportunity to serve as governor, and I remain fully committed to it.”

Reacting humorously to the defection rumours, the governor said a friend sent him a newspaper article about the alleged move, to which he replied:
