They Shot My Son In The Chest’ — Daddy Showkey Reveals Sh*cking Home Attack

Veteran Nigerian musician John Asiemo, popularly known as Daddy Showkey, has recounted two separate incidents in which he said he narrowly escaped attacks by suspected assassins.

The singer shared the account during an interview with The Podcast Network, where he spoke about an alleged attack on his vehicle as well as an earlier incident involving an invasion of his residence.

According to Showkey, the attack on his vehicle occurred about three months after suspected assailants allegedly invaded his home and killed one of his workers.

‘Gunmen Opened Fire on My Car’

Showkey said he was driving when he noticed four men on motorcycles following him closely.

He said their movements aroused his suspicion, prompting him to drive into a filling station to buy fuel. According to him, the four men followed him into the station and parked nearby.

The musician said the situation became dangerous while an attendant was refuelling his vehicle, as the men allegedly brought out firearms and opened fire.

He said several bullets struck the car and penetrated different parts of the vehicle, including the seats.

Showkey said he then pretended to have been killed in the attack.

According to him, one of the assailants moved closer to the vehicle, giving him an opportunity to react. He said he forcefully pushed open the car door, knocking the attacker down before stepping out.

The musician said he confronted the assailant and continued struggling with him until the man fell.

“While the fuel attendant was putting fuel in my car, the next thing I heard was gunshots. They shot repeatedly at my car and bullets penetrated the seats and everywhere. I pretended to be dead, then I pushed my door open to knock down one of the shooters.

“I got out and punched him until he fell,” he recalled.

Showkey also recounted an earlier incident in which he said armed men invaded his home while he was away.

He explained that he had instructed that his vehicles be taken out for servicing when the alleged attackers entered his residence.

According to the musician, the men encountered one of his workers inside the compound and allegedly mistook him for his personal security operative because of his large build.

Showkey said the worker was shot in the chest during the incident.

He said he was informed about the attack afterward and immediately arranged for the injured man to be taken to hospital for treatment.

However, according to Showkey, the worker later died while receiving medical attention.

The musician said the two incidents formed part of the dangerous experiences he had encountered over the years, adding that the circumstances surrounding the attacks remained deeply disturbing.
