This Is Not Acceptable’ — Adeleke Raises Fresh Concerns Over Osun Election Process

Osun State Governor and Accord Party candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was planning to bypass the established electoral collation process during Saturday’s governorship election.

Adeleke raised the allegation shortly after casting his ballot at Sagba Abogunde Ward 2, Unit 9, in Ede North Local Government Area.

The governor claimed he had received information suggesting that there was an attempt to avoid the established process of collating results from polling units to wards and then to local government areas.

He said, “I have it on authority that they don’t want to go through the normal process from units to ward and to local government.”

Adeleke also alleged that a police officer identified as “London”, said to be from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, had been brought into Osun to cause unrest and disrupt the election.

He subsequently called on the Inspector-General of Police and other security agencies to be vigilant and investigate the alleged presence of the officer.

The governor urged security authorities to watch out for the said police officer and take appropriate action if necessary.

Voting Disrupted in Ejigbo

Meanwhile, voting was reportedly disrupted at a polling unit in Ejigbo, Osun State, after violence erupted during the ongoing governorship election.

Video footage from the area showed voters, residents and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials fleeing as tension escalated.

Some people were seen running away from the polling area in different directions in an attempt to escape the unfolding situation.

Motorcycles and vehicles were also observed moving through the area as residents sought safety amid the reported disturbance.
