Osun Election: Sparks Fly As APC Running Mate Storms Deputy Governor’s Polling Unit
Chaos reportedly broke out on Saturday at the polling unit of Osun State Deputy Governor and Accord Party running mate, Prince Kola Adewusi, during the ongoing governorship election.
The incident occurred after the All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate, Benjamin Kayode Adereti, arrived at the polling unit.
Adereti had earlier cast his ballot at his designated Waasin Polling Unit 11, Ilaare Ward 3, before proceeding to the deputy governor’s polling location.
However, his arrival reportedly triggered a confrontation as supporters of the Osun State Deputy Governor objected to his presence.
The disagreement quickly escalated into a heated exchange between supporters of both sides, briefly disrupting activities and creating tension at the polling unit.
The situation reportedly unsettled the otherwise calm atmosphere at the voting centre, with supporters exchanging words as tensions mounted.
The Osun State governorship election is currently ongoing across the state, with voters casting their ballots to elect the next governor.
